An interesting biography, but dated. It does give some insight into the novels and makes very clear the biographical references. You do have to be familiar with the novels in order to follow the narrative and understand the the analysis of the biography. It strikes me how much the novels were driven by Marian's experiences, such as her relationship with her father.Product details

This is clearly the best of the volumes Stephen wrote for the "English Men [sic] of Letters" series (at least of those I've read, which I think is all or most of them).
It's hardly a paean to Ms. Evans, but it's a fair judgment of her accomplishments.
No complaints ! Excellent seller and great shipping.
